From the Course

Further to last week’s newsletter, work is well under way reconfiguring the 17th greenside bunker. Weather permitting this work should be completed within the next two weeks. I also wrote last week on Course Care and it is disappointing that I have to write again on this subject. Please repair divots anywhere in the General Area. i.e. closely mown or rough.

On Wednesday, the group in which was a player, emptied three buckets of sand on the bank leading to the 6th green. Unfortunately, this was not enough to make good the damage to this area which had so many divots that grass regrowth and recovery in some areas is going to be very slow. It is your course and if you see an unrepaired divot, please do the right thing and repair this damage.

On another matter of course care and etiquette, once again we ask that all players please use the roadway when leaving the 8th green and going to the 9th tee. Please do not take a short cut along the side of the 5th green bunker and / or via the 5th fairway, irrespective that there may not be players on the 5th tee or General Area. We have managed to gradually get grass regrowth alongside this bunker and below the chipped area and we do not want this area to be further damaged.

Thank you and good golfing
